In 2019, Japan dropped a further 11 places in the World Economic Forum ranking of gender equality, placing them at 121 out of 153, by far the lowest of any advanced economy. These alarming figures served as an unavoidable wake up call that Japan could no longer afford to remain inactive in addressing this issue.
As an organisation that is dedicated to the advancement of women, The Dream Collective were committed to inspiring and driving gender equality progress and who better to help us do that than those leading the change..
The book
Together, She Shines Brighter shares the stories of leaders and teams from organisations that are committed to the attraction, retention and advancement of female talent in Japan. In the book, our partners generously share their learnings and insights to help other organisations follow in their footsteps and improve their own diversity and inclusion initiatives.

The next chapter
Together, She Shines Brighter ignited a conversation that has created so much momentum and now, it’s time for the next chapter. In March 2021, the second edition in the “Together, She…” series, will unite even more business leaders, KOL’s and advocates of change from some of Japan’s most established brands to share their stories, learnings from this year and insights on prioritising gender equality in the post-crisis rebuild.
